What is glitch text?
Glitch text is normal text layered with Unicode combining marks that stack above, below and through the letters, making clean text look digitally corrupted while staying copyable.
How the Glitch Text Generator works
Unicode includes hundreds of combining marks: accents and strokes designed to attach to the letter before them. Normal writing uses one mark at a time, like the accent in café. A glitch generator stacks many of them on every letter at once, in random order, so the marks spill above and below the line and the text looks like a corrupted file or a failing screen.
The intensity slider controls how many marks land on each character. Low keeps your words readable with a light static effect. Medium is the classic glitch look used in usernames. High buries the letters almost completely, which is the point for horror edits and cursed memes. Some styles here also swap a few letters for lookalike symbols such as ø or ł to sell the broken-machine effect.

Glitch text FAQs
What is the difference between glitch text and Zalgo text?
They use the same trick, stacking combining marks. Zalgo is the extreme, chaotic version made famous by creepypasta, while glitch text usually stays lighter and more readable. This page offers both, and the slider lets you move between them.
Can glitch text break a website or app?
No. The output is ordinary Unicode text, so it cannot corrupt a page or a database. A few sites strip heavy combining characters from usernames, in which case the text simply shows up plainer than you pasted it.
Why does my glitch text look different every time?
The marks are placed randomly on each conversion, so no two results are identical. If you find a version you love, copy it immediately, because regenerating gives you a fresh corruption pattern.
Does glitch text work in usernames?
Usually yes on Discord, TikTok and most games. Platforms with strict name filters may reject very heavy glitch text; drop the intensity to Low and it normally goes through.
How do I remove the glitch from text I copied?
Paste it into a plain text editor and delete the extra marks, or retype the words. The letters underneath are normal characters, and the marks are separate characters attached to them.
