Small Text Generator
Type your text and copy it back in tiny letters. Small text makes bios, usernames and captions stand out without using an image or a special app.
What is small text?
Small text is regular text rewritten with miniature Unicode characters, mostly small capital letters, so it stays as real, copyable text instead of becoming an image or a font file.
How the Small Text Generator works
When you type above, the generator swaps every letter for a matching character from the Unicode small-capitals set (ᴀ, ʙ, ᴄ and so on). Those characters exist in Unicode because linguists use them in phonetic writing, which is why they are built into the fonts on your phone and computer already. Nothing is drawn or rendered as a picture: the output is plain text, and it pastes anywhere normal text pastes.
The swap is one letter for one letter, so spelling, spaces and punctuation stay exactly where you put them. A few characters have no miniature version in Unicode; the Superscript Tiny and Tiny Mix styles on this page fill those gaps with superscript characters, which is why having more than one tiny style is useful when a letter refuses to shrink.
Small text styles in this generator
- Small Caps: Small capital letters. The classic tiny look: quiet, clean and readable everywhere.
- Superscript Tiny: Small raised characters, designed for exponents. The smallest true text style.
- Tiny Mix: A per-letter mix of the smallest available forms, so no letter is left big.
- Subscript: Small lowered characters, made for chemical formulas and phonetics.
- Circled: Every letter inside its own circle. Friendly, badge-like text.
- Squared: Every letter inside its own square, like signage tiles.
Where to use small text
Bios and profiles
A line of small text under your name on Instagram or TikTok reads as a quiet signature. It fits more words into the visible bio space and looks deliberate next to regular text.
Discord and gaming names
Small caps are the classic low-key flex in Discord servers and game lobbies. Your name stays readable while looking different from everyone else in the member list.
Captions and comments
Use a tiny line as a footnote, a whisper or an aside in a caption. The size contrast does the work that brackets and stage directions do in scripts.
Aesthetic posts
Small text pairs well with the other styles here. Mix a small-caps heading with a normal paragraph and a post instantly has structure.

Small text FAQs
Is small text a font?
No. A font changes how letters look on one device, while small text is made of different Unicode characters that look small everywhere. That is why it survives copy and paste into apps that do not let you choose a font.
Why did one of my letters stay big?
Unicode has no miniature version of every character. The letter Q is the famous gap in some sets, and a few symbols have no small form at all. Try the Tiny Mix style, which fills gaps with superscript characters.
Does small text work on Instagram and Discord?
Yes, both apps display Unicode small capitals. Paste the converted text into your bio, name or message and it keeps its size, because the characters themselves are small.
Why do I see boxes or question marks on an old phone?
Very old devices ship with fonts that lack some Unicode blocks, so the character is missing and the phone draws a placeholder box. Modern phones and browsers cover these sets well.
Is small text bad for accessibility?
Screen readers may read small-caps text letter by letter or skip some characters, so keep important information in normal text and use small text as decoration.
